description
In a regular store, providing additional services doesn’t raise any questions. It’s different when it comes to an online order with delivery: manipulations with the product must be made before shipment and without the customer’s presence, incorporating them into the overall logic of the business processes of order picking and packing.
about task
Problem (what the client came with):
Any electronics retailer needs to sell related products: accessories and services to maintain acceptable business profitability.
Sticking protective films, checking for dead pixels, installation and configuration — money for survival comes from there, not from planned unprofitable sales of popular gadgets. When selling in an offline store, providing additional services doesn’t raise any questions: you received the goods, went to the corresponding counter, and were satisfied.

It’s different when it comes to an order with delivery through the website: additional manipulations with the product must be made BEFORE shipment and without the customer’s presence, incorporating them into the overall logic of the business processes of order picking and packing.
solution
How we solved it:
1
From orders containing additional services, dia$par automatically separates goods for additional processing and generates an internal transfer from the picking warehouse to the testing stand. The testing stand is also used by the warranty department.
2
Testers, seeing the task in the system interface, perform the corresponding manipulations with the goods (sticking a film on the screen). Then, an act of services performed is printed out, attached to the goods, and the testers, by pressing a button, generate reverse transfers "testing" — "warehouse". In dia$par, the order document moves to the "Tested" stage.
3
The item returned from testing (physically it is a cart that is rolled from the "testers nook" into the main warehouse) is offloaded into a dedicated warehouse bin for tested goods. Simultaneously, dia$par auto-advances the order into the Cleared for Assembly stage, and the warehouse assignment generation script is run.
RESULT

We saved the profitability of the online electronics store business by automating the provision of additional services: sticking protective films, checking for dead pixels, installation and configuration. We incorporated them into the logic of the business processes of order picking and packing.
